“Emberline” evokes the quiet intensity of a late-season field, where last embers of colour and warmth are still held in the earth even as the air cools.
Textures are built up and worn back, allowing earlier oil pastel marks to emerge through the surface sealed by layer upon layer of oil pastel and cold wax.
Held in this interplay of color and atmosphere is a delicate line between what is fading and what still glows.
